Last October 20, 2009. Cinemanila hosted a Festival for Machinima shorts and music videos at Fully Booked Bookstore, Taguig City. It hosted some of the Machinimas from foreign and also local machinima artists, and at the same night they awarded the best machinimas in the festival. The following are the categories and winners of the Machinima Festival:
(By the way, congratulations to the winners of the festival, let's give them a big pat on their backs for their great effort in making really great machinima shorts)

?
Now you would be wondering why the Best E-Games Machinima is left with a ?
Well it's because something really weird happened. E-Games never showed up in the said Film Festival, but they are one of the major sponsors of the festival. and there is also an E-Games entry on the Machinima Festival, and yet they never showed up and didn't even gave any award for the category. So I try to check the official Cinemanila Machinima site just to make sure and the E-Games category is indeed included on the Rules and Mechanics section

and also I checked their official website and found this:

So why the E-games category wasn't awarded?
So this lead to the big question...
What happened?
Did something happened with their agreement that might gone sour? Did they have amnesia or something? or is it one of their magic tricks?
To my discovery, I've heard news that E-Games "dropped the sponsorship in the middle on the contest" which is a really bad move if you tell me.
For more info, you can visit PJ Punla's blog about the recent Machinima Festival

Up to now, there is still no word from E-Games on their recent disappearing act.
Okay back to the film festival results...
Well it was unfortunate that Darrick's video didn't win any awards, but I still congratulate him for being able to showcase his creation on the Machinima film festival, which is still a great privilege to become a part of the festival.
Also Darrick made a blog about this, you should also check it out

Congratulations to Cinemanila for a successful Film Fest and more festivals to come in the future and also to the winners and participants for their great effort.
*update: MMOtaku also posted about the Machinima Festival:

Well it seems that this almost answered the big question, so the next question that will bug us in the future is...
Will E-Games do the Disappearing Act again?
Well, we'll stay tuned for that...
