Phantasy Star Portable Review

Okay I'll be adding a new feature in the blog for gaming reviews, and it's entitled "Game review", I'll be trying a game and then I'll be posting my impression of the game.
Of course first impression sometimes matters especially when buying a game, well except for hardcore fans XD

So let's begin...

Phantasy Star Portable is a new game produced by Sonic Team and developed by Alfa System for the PlayStation Portable
The game will be based on the Phantasy Star Universe game on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360.
It will feature a single player mode and a multiplayer mode so your friends can join the fun, fortunately a demo version of the game available for download and I was able to get one

The demo version features 2 single player missions and 5 multiplayer missions, but you can play the multiplayer missions alone (just activate your WLAN to access the multiplayer mode) but it's best that you try playing it with your friends to get that MMORPG raid feel, in single player mode you can recruit NPCs as party members (sadly you can't control them in the demo ver.)

You can select from 5 different races and three job classes (RF online fans will get a nostalgic feeling with this game)
If you tried Monster Hunter then you'll be having no problem with the gameplay (pick a mission, hunt and retrieve item)
The graphics is really good and you can fully customize your avatar's appearance and size and voice acting is a bit decent, the sound effects is also great.
The camera controls really need some improvement as well as the targeting system which really gives players a hard time to attack targets.

There are rumors that you can import your characters from the demo to the retail version.
If you're a fan of Sci-Fci RPGs then you should definitely get this game

you can get the demo version here

Game Rating: 8 out of 10

The retail version of Phantasy Star Portable is available on your nearest gaming stores in

80's Cartoons Rule!!!

Ah the 80's cartoons, if you've been born in the 80's, chances are you probably remember some of the popular 80's toons with their catchy theme songs

From the transforming robots to the patriotic joes to the sword swinging cats
these cartoons have been etched into your memories until now

And now as time goes by, we can see some movies today that are based on some of the popular 80's cartoons

Let's take a look on the 2 popular cartoon series that will be brought into the big screen

Transformers Revenge of The Fallen

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is an upcoming science fiction/action film due for release on June 26, 2009. It is the sequel to 2007's Transformers, which was the first live action Transformers film. Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg return respectively as director and executive producer, while Shia LaBeouf reprises the role of Sam Witwicky, the human caught in the war between Autobots and Decepticons.

GI Joe The Rise of Cobra

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is an upcoming live action of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toy franchise, to be released on August 7, 2009. The film is directed by Stephen Sommers, produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and written by Stuart Beattie. G.I. Joe features an ensemble cast based on the various characters of the franchise.

The film is an origin story, showing the rise of the Cobra Organization.

From the trailers itself, the movie looks promising, the problem will be how faithful will the movie adaptation be on the cartoon series

Now what next 80's cartoons will they think of turning into a movie?

Patapon 300

Imagine the ever addicting game Patapon mixed up with the mighty Spartans of 300
that would be a cool concept, well some guy by the name of canecodesign at deviantart.com
made a cool fanart combining Patapon with 300

Here's the pic of the fanart

The fanart's based from the original 300 poster

And here's another fanart (this time with a special guest from Loco Roco)

If you don't know what's Patapon, you check the official website for info on Patapon: http://www.us.playstation.com/patapon/ and then grab a PSP and a copy of the game and get hooked with this really fun game

Too bad it's only a concept art, but it would be really cool if it becomes a real game

Till next time...
