The History of Fighting Games Chart

After the announcement of Capcom vs. Marvel 3, Capcom made an interesting walk-through on the history of fighting games.

And with the help from Kotaku, they managed to build a chart in the history, from 1985's Yie Ar Kung Fu up to 2011 where it is supposed to be the scheduled release year of Capcom vs. Marvel 3.

You can check the full-sized chart by clicking on the image below.
Take note that there are some games/franchises that were not mentioned as it only has a limited space.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Character Wish List (Part 1)

All of the gamer's prayers have been answered, after decades of waiting and praying, one of the best fighting game of all time; Capcom Vs. Marvel has confirmed to get it's third sequel, and an official announcement will be made on this coming May, sadly the supposed scheduled release was in 2011.

For now, only six characters was revealed: Ryu, Morrigan (Dark Stalkers) and Chris Redfield (Resident Evil) from the Capcom franchise and Wolverine, Iron Man (now in the Mark IV armor) and the Hulk for the Marvel franchise. No news on what will be t he new gameplay mechanics be, we'll soon find out in the coming weeks (May is now a few days away)

Now players are predicting on who should be in the roster on Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, you can check some of the predictions on these sites:
And of course, Reimaru Files will also be making a MvC3 wishlist, and it's a two-part feature.
For the first part, we'll be making a wishlist of Capcom characters, *note: I'll be making a wishlist of characters that haven't made an appearance in any Capcom vs. franchise (Including the Tatsunoko and Capcom vs. games) so here's the rundown:

Dante (Devil May Cry)
Obviously this guy definitely needs to be in any Capcom vs. franchise, with his badass moves and attitude, Dante will surely be a fan favorite in the epic fighting franchise. And it's even cool to see Dante juggle an opponent in the air with his pistols.
Give Dante the DMC1 or DMC3 getup and you're good to go.

Main Character from Monster Hunter
In Japan, Monster Hunter is very popular, same goes in the Philippines. Yet we never see anything MH related in a fighting game, so MvC3 could be it's very first appearance.
For the costume and weapon, we should let Capcom do the choices.

Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney)
Who said attorneys are wimps (XD).
Give him an "Objection!" special move and he will the most powerful character in the game, 'nuff said.

Amaterasu (Okami)
Yeah there's an upcoming sequel on the hit PS2 game, but my pick will be on the older Amaterasu. so far there's no character in any of the MvC franchise that is a pet (unless if you count the Servbot and Felicia as a pet). Give her the ability to switch weapons (from the solar flared, thunder beads and to the thunder edge) and a super move that uses the Celestial Brush, and you'll see me playing MvC3 for ages.

X (Megaman X)
Yeah we already have Mega Man in the previous series, but we want the mature version, and there's already a Zero character in the Capcom Vs. Tatsunoko game, but we still want Mega Man.
Add a move that make him turn into his ultimate armor and the classic mega buster move.

Yukimura Sanada / Masamune Date (Sengoku Basara)
It's a hard pick on who should be in, so in this case, it's a draw. Sure there's a Samurai Warriors version of the two, but the Sengoku Basara version of Capcom is far much cooler, and as a matter of fact, there's a fighting game for Sengoku Basara in the arcades, so more points for this version over the Koei version. Give them their signature moves for that army destroying mayhem.

Grand Kaiser (Tech Romancer)
Giant robots rule!, and it deserves to be included in the MvC franchise. CvT has two in their roster, so it's time for MvC to get one. Pit this one against the Sentinel and my bet will still be on Grand Kaiser.

Regina (Dino Crisis)
We have Jill Valentine on MvC2 and Chris Redfield will be debuting on MvC3, but some people forgot that there's also one survivor game that's needs a proper debut, and that's Regina from the Dino Crisis series. she should have her ever trusted tranquilizer gun in her arsenal and some t-rex super move on her list.

Akira Kazama (Rival School)
It's time to add a female character from the Rival School franchise to MvC3, and it's a hard decision to pick with Hinata, Tiffany and Akira, but in the end, Akira was one on my top choice.
Give her two versions, the unmasked one and the helmet version.

So there you have it, stay tuned for the second part of the wishlist as we focus on some Marvel characters you wish to be included on Capcom Vs. Marvel 3.

You are what you eat (and play)

MMOs or Massively Multiplayer Online games are becoming a daily ritual or habit to gamers these days, it's like you can't live without logging in to the game for a couple of hours and grind like hell. As a matter of fact, some even bring the MMO life into the real world, one such example is the food.

Some players from the hit MMORPG World of Warcraft just mastered their cooking skills and decided to bring it in the real world, well they may not be the best chefs in town but bringing notable food items from WoW to the real world looks interesting. Well some ingredients like Giant eggs, Kodo meat and Murloc eyes are not existent, but there are some alternatives to it.

The guys at Rock, Paper Shotgun decided to bring some of their favorite WoW food items into their kitchen. They picked their five favorites and decided to share the recipes to us, to learn more of the recipes, you can visit their page here.

Another player also decided to recreate the famous Westfall Stew (to some who played WoW and took the low level quest on Westfall will surely remember this one). You can learn more about it here.

And finally, there's one who decided to make a cookbook out of it, but you have to buy it.
the people behind Tauren Chef Cookbook decide to make a cookbook with over 60 recipes of some of the notable food items in World of Warcraft. You can also get a mini-cookbook for free as a teaser on their main course (the cookbook itself that is), you can visit the site taurenchef.com.

Well there you have it, probably you are all hungry after reading this and itching to test out the recipes.
'Till next time...

Event Aftermath: Ozine Fest 2010

Last weekend (April 9-11, 2010), we just witness one of the anticipated anime event in the country, the Ozine Fest 2010, which was organized by the people behind Otakuzine magazine.

One of the good points here is that the event last for three days (yep, you get to enjoy the whole weekend by attending the said event)

And from the looks of it, it just gotten bigger than before, they just double the space of the venue (sort of) by occupying the two halls in the Megatrade. Also, aside from the usual anime/gaming booths, there were more activities, from the battle of the bands, art and dance competitions and everyone's favorite: cosplay competitions.

The gaming activities just gotten better, there was a LAN competition held on the event, with games such as Starcraft, Warcraft 3 (which also includes Defense of The Ancients) and Counterstrike. And not to mention some online gaming booths from Runup Games.

There's also a booth called Maid Cafe, where cosplayers wearing maid uniforms will try to serve you with food and drinks

Will be looking forward for another great Ozine Fest next year, happy summer everyone

April Fools!!

Ahh it's April 1 already, and it's time for pranks and more pranks, well because it's April Fools Day.

People all over the world are celebrating this tradition by making crazy pranks, and even on the internet, one example is on the social network site Facebook. Yes, you might be seeing some shocking status updates from your friends in Facebook like getting engaged or pregnant or maybe something stupid like getting arrested or something, and if you're one of the victims of making comments about their message, then the joke's on you.

But aside from the social network sites, the world of gaming is also keeping the tradition.

Blizzard, the famous creator of hits like World of Warcraft and Starcraft, usually post bizarre and crazy news of updates and announcements which were never real but managed to fool people to think they are really real news, one example would be this April Fools news

Electronic Gaming Monthly, one of the top gaming magazines, was also famous for their April Fools Jokes, and it start on 1991, for more info on the list of their April Fools jokes, you view the list here.

And finally IGN, created one of the best April Fools joke ever, by making a trailer of a Legend of Zelda movie, which wasn't of course real, but because of the impressive effects and acting on the trailer, making people believe that it was a real movie.

So there you have it, hope you enjoy your April Fools although it's not even a real holiday, well since it's just a joke LOL

'Till next time...
