A Secret Store in Quezon City

While browsing in the internet, I stumbled on a certain image that shows a pile of figures on display, while researching about the said picture, then I discovered that it is from a surplus shop located in Quezon City.

Halina Kabayan Ko Inc. is a Japanese Surplus Shop that sells furnitures, electronics, clothes, bags and even figures as well as mangas, and the good thing is, all of the products are in good condition and some are still sealed in plastic to ensure the quality. At a first glance on the store name, you wouldn't notice that it is actually a surplus shop.

As for my curiosity, I visited the shop to check out what other products they offer, and to my surprise, it was a collector's haven. Majority of the figures ranges from Dragonball Z, Gundam, Lupin III up to Saint Seiya. Some figures are dated from 2005 or even older. Most of the packages are still sealed while some of the opened packages are vacuum sealed in plastic to ensure the figures are in tip-top shape. Price ranges from PhP 300 (for the gashapon figures) to PhP 500 (for the action figures/small statues) up to PhP 2000 (for the large statues)

Aside from Anime figures, there were also Action Figures from Marvel and Image Comics, I stumbled upon a couple of action figures from the 1997 Spawn movie, still intact. Aside from figures, you can also find second hand mangas, all piled and sorted according to volumes, most of the mangas are priced at PhP 100 that ranges from the classic titles (I even found a Spider-man manga that was published in the 70's) up to the latest ones (you can find a Shonen Jump manga there that was dated last January). One drawback here is that the mangas are all in Japanese text, unless you want purchase these as a collection then this is a good start to check out this store.

One reminder though is that the store is freaking hot inside since there is no air condition, so it's best to visit the store late in the afternoon or in a cloudy day.

So if you are looking for Anime figures and Mangas, Halina Kabayan Ko Inc. should definitely be on your list. Halina Kabayan Ko Inc. is located at 113 Quezon Avenue, Sto. Domingo, Quezon City (it is located near the Sto. Domingo Church)
